Holy fkin shit!
i mean... how is this possible?
Soundcloud
1. how does this work
2. i know there is a super stereo i dunno thread but my focus lies on the sound design itself not the dimensional expansion effect
3. i use massive but have to say that nearly every preset i made sounds similar even if i try to change my method.
4. even if you guys dont know how to achieve this sound, can you tell me how to achieve the knowledge which let me achieve this sound?
thank you very very much if u can help me

I made something like this, its pretty stereoish? But i guess the same sort of idea applies to this. I could post how i did it, with my ableton project, since its really how you layer youre effects to get this sound.

yeah like yours at 18 seconds, its gettin in the right direction. what for effects do you use? i got a phaser by myself but the fl studio plugins are so muddy and just weak

Well at the second part (18) its the same patch but i added pitch bends to notes to get more movement and vocal goodness. For effects i know i used a shit ton of chorus! Thats the main part of the sound, and then has some phaser, flanger giving it more metallic feel to it. I actually like fl stock plugins 10x better than abletons..... but im already use to them and its not such a big deal but yeah, get a nice patch inside massive or whatever like mine and then mess around with LOTS of chorus and some stereo imaging vst's
Heres the chorus i used

thank you but actually im not smarter right now... i dont know why but even if i would have the same patch like in the track by daforce it wouldnt be possible for me to recreate the bassline ... there is a difference between this stupid
Woahoahoahoahoahoah daft filter-> cutoff-> lfo wobbles
and wobbles like there were used in r2d2 .. do u understand?

r3b, could you post a quick guideline on how you got that sound in that clip you posted?

there are different types of creating wobbles.
one of the easiest ways to create a wobble bass is to open a new preset in massive, pick a random wavetable and send it to filter 1, then set "Daft" in filter1 and add a LFO to modulate the cutoff of the daft filter. if u now put a note in the (for example) FL Piano roll over 4 bars, you will get a simple "Wouhouhouhouhouh" Sound (this whouhouh is like typographical beatbox

)
in the track "R2D2" the artist does not simply use this type of wobble bass-> there is no "Wouhouhouh", there are a couple of pluck styled "Wubs" in a row. one note hit equals one "Whou" (because of the modulation of course) but how is this bass modulated and how are these wubs sorted?
i hope u can understand me

im not that good in describing these music jargon stuff in english

Ohhhhh now i get it, i think..... but a lot of these "wubs" are actually modified with either velocity ( inside massive its on the left of macro control; called "vel")
, aka the little bar that shows how hard/loud a notes being hit on a piano roll or using envelopes.
I used the env tab in massive to modulate a couple things. So ill post a couple pictures what i did inside massive, dont ask how and why i did it because i simply dont know, it just worked out nice turning this knob here and there BUT the concept for these modulated movement is with Envelopes.
Heres what the patch looks like-
Overview
1st Env settings
4th Env settings; the 4th env is always the thing that controls the whole sound inside massive.
The voicing tab with my little secret to phase stuff and get it nice and metallic

These sounds are made with malstrom in reason, also reason's reverb to me is a bit different than fl's it just makes the sound really expanded without giving it a long tail, you can achieve the expanded effect in fl by using the fruity delay 2 pull the timing all the way down and experiment with the offset until it you'll hear it if it's to much it'll start phasing than just adjust the dry/wet !

Here's something i made by doing this !

You can do something similar with a 30ms delay.

yeah, try this and automating wet/dry on reverb for each wob, make it increase in reverb towards the end of the note or just get creative. i did this on a track i'm working on right now and the only issue is that i'll have to trim off some weird reverb ends in the bounce phase..but still getting some really trippy sounds doing this.
