Didn't notice or find anything when I was there last Christmas (didn't try terribly hard though). Wasn't even sure anyone had even heard of it. Closest thing I found was a compilation CD in Singapore.

Cheers for the replies.
No actual events in Malaysia and Singapore but heard Silkie's Dam 4 in Malaysia and Appleblim's dubstep allstars album in Thasiland.
Peace

Which part of Malaysia are you headed to? Kuala Lumpur? Quite a lot to do in town, especially foodwise, if you haven't been there before. Historical buildings, the national museum (always found it a bit creepy though), night markets, temples. Plenty of nightlife, the whole place generally gets quite lively after 10pm as people head out for late night supper after the shops shut.
If you want a bit of history, take a trip down to Melaka (Malacca) which should be just a couple hours drive away to look at colony-era buildings a couple hundred years old. If you want to venture further up north to Penang Island then you can get more chinese-oriented culture.
If you're into hiking then the national forest/jungle is probably a couple hours away, there are loads of hiking spots, etc. I think it's the wrong time of the year for turtle egg laying season.
Beach-wise, there aren't any good ones nearby, you'd be better off flying to one of the islands. Went to Langkawi the last time, was ok if you want to mix beach with a bit of town life. There are quieter islands around, especially in East Malaysia.

thx for the info!
i´ll be just a couple of days in k.l. we want to travell around for two weeks.
any other chance to get to these islands? another flight sounds quite expensive.

Nah, I think with the currency differences they won't be that expensive. Cheap flight to an East Malaysian (Borneo) city followed by boat to island. Google Sabah or Sarawak, those are the states. To be honest, if you're more into nature/outdoors, you could very spend the full two weeks just over there. If I remember correctly, flights work out to about 20-30 euros max (but this was a couple years ago).
