Where did the bass go?

First of all, dont flame me, if i posted this the wrong place, caus i'm new here.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I bought a pair of these a few months ago:
http://www.musikladen.dk/index.php?120& ... ducts=2119
But i just cant figure out if i'm doing something wrong (soundcard, driver etc)
or if they just aren't made for dubstep.
If i turn up the volume when i listen to tracks with a deep bass (For instance Colourful by Skream) The bass is nice and i can feel it in the floor, it doesn't pound my chest, but its there...
If i listen to, let's say Caspa - Terminator then i can't feel the bass, it's like it's non-existant. It's not there. This may not be the best examples, but i hope you get the picture.
The kicks hits hard and all, but the god damned bass is just so weak, and its driving me insane.
When i play some of the stuff i've made on my friends speakers, the bass is way too extreme because on my "nEar 08"'s it sounds just fine and i can't hear that the bass is too loud.
Now, i just want to know: Are my speakers crap, or am i missing something? I really want to know, 'caus they weren't
cheap...

no, unfortunatly i dont know the basics of room acoustics, and my room isn't filled with crap, actually its kinda empty... i guess that could be why...
I just failed i guess...

i just noticed that there is 3 switches on the back of the speakers:
"Low frequency" "high frequency" and the volume ofcourse.
They're standing on my computer table, and theres a cupboard on each side and some crap on my desk... i didnt bothered looking 'caus i didnt remember them being there... stupid... But any way how should i set them up?

get them off the desk and up on stands for a start
seriously
and 2-3 feet away from a wall
in an equilateral (sorry if its miss spelled) triangle
so basicly if there 6 feet apart they should be 6 feet from your head, and the centre should be inline with your ears
some bass traps if you can afford it, and i mean even DIY ones

Actually the guy in the shop where i bought them said something... that i cant really remember, but bla bla bla something about them being meant for studio environment and that they're nearfield monitors, and he said that its fine if they're standing on my table. do you really think it will change that much.. i mean have such a great effect on the bass?
When i first got them my table where in the middle of the room, and the bass where even weaker back then, when i moved my table to the wall, the bass became much more intense, so moving them away from the wall.. eh.. wouldnt that just "undo" that effect?
I dont doubt that you're right, i just dont get that my speakers have to be moved around, when all my friends dont experience this problem with the same kind of setup?
Ah, this is much more complex that i'd imagined

its the room
listen when there close to the wall behind the monitors, the bass frequencies can extend along the wall, turning you wall into a massive amp and so making your bass sound massive, when in reality its not that big
when you place them on a straight surface, like a desk, the waves can be refracted up and can do horrible things to the sound, also itll cause the entire desk to resonate at its resonant frequency, something you dont want to happen, so youll have to make sure there isolated if you wanna do that
trust me mate, SOUND IS MORE COMPLICATED THEN WOMEN

as you move neareer to the wall the sound will always become louder, especially the low frequencies. (proximity-effect)

Also don't forget all manufactures of speakers lie about the real freq range.
I am not surprised you cannot hear sub bass on them speakers tbh.
I use my Alesis speakers when making the drums but when I start work on bass/sub I use my in ear headphones.

My monitors have a sweet spot for bass about 1 meter away. Definitely near field monitors. Any further than that and you cant hear/feel it. Caspa style bass doesn't really have a lot of punch for me neither but play it in a club and it's a different story.
