Controlling Live with a Xbox pad

Million points for someone who can point out an old thread or point me in the right direction. I've got the drivers from microsoft and had a quick scan around the web. Max msp pops up quite a bit but this forum is the Dogs balls for getting answers and not to mention the odd alpaca.

get it setup as a joystick human interface device in windows then use a hid to midi app
done

ah i saw polar bear do something like this... the electronics guy uses what looked like an xbox controller to trigger samples and stuff.. pretty cool idea
